About Jaime
Jaime is a writer/filmmaker and community organizer based out of Toronto whose interests include topics as diverse as finance, technology, and social issues. He is currently a staff writer at Torontoist, a commentator for Mark News, and his work has appeared in Financial Post, NOW Toronto, Vancouver Sun, and Xtra. His visual works have been recognized by the Luminato Arts and Creativity Festival and the CBC.
In addition, Jaime is a games maker and his first, an outdoors game called Gargoyles, was recently featured in the August 4th issue of the Grid. He is also the co-founder of Gamercamp, a games festival dedicated to the arts and creativity in video games. In 2010, over 1200 people attended the Gamercamp events, and there was coverage in the Globe and Mail and CBC Radio's Metro Morning.
Gamercamp Jr., aimed at inspiring children to create video games, launched summer 2011 with a meetup on September 10, 2011.
In August 2011, Jaime was named a research associate with the Experimental Design and Gaming Environments (EDGE) lab at Ryerson University.
